SCP is Hiring a Marketing & Communications Intern!
Are you looking to gain valuable marketing and communications experience while working for a mission-driven organization in Detroit? Join our team this summer!
The Marketing & Communications Intern will support the Communications Manager by creating content, contributing to strategic conversations and distributing marketing materials while focusing on building the Strategic Community Partner brand in the community. Responsibilities will include email marketing, social content creation, flyer distribution, market research, client project work, graphic design and more. You will also gain insight to promotion and strategy development with a focus on client experience and branding.
This is a paid, full-time (40-hours per week) internship beginning on June 1, 2020 and ending on August 18, 2020. Intern must be able to commute to the SCP office in the Fitzgerald neighborhood of Detroit. This is a contracted position.

Core Responsibilities
Support the brand’s content needs – including email, blogs and social promotions
Assist in developing marketing plans and client assets with updates from team meetings
Identify new ways to showcase Strategic Community Partners mission and vision, including client & project highlights and offsite social coverage and PR support
Take photos and share content on social media at events and any site visits
Conduct competitive and partner online research
Support events, such as hiring fairs, workshops, client events, etc.
Distribute marketing materials and work with clients and partners to increase brand awareness
Skill Sets
Self-motivated and a quick learner, proactive, professional and personable, resourceful, excited to work in a dynamic, startup environment
Comfortable engaging with people while representing the SCP brand over phone calls, email and face-to-face interaction (group or 1:1 settings)
Creative thinker, ready to contribute ideas to collaborative environment
Strong written and verbal communication and client relationship skills
Ability to work a limited number of evenings or weekends and have flexibility with your schedule
Bonus Skills (Not required)
Comfortability with Wordpress and social media scheduling tools
Familiarity with Mailchimp and Google Analytics
Familiarity with graphic design tools (Canva, Photoshop, etc) a plus, but not required
Education
Currently enrolled in a college, university or training program
