Equity Initiatives
Community Impact Incubator
Launched as a partnership between Strategic Community Partners and the Marygrove Conservancy with financial support from the Kresge Foundation, the Community Impact Incubator provides capacity-building support and facilities to a cohort of nonprofit organizations during a 6-month incubator experience. This opportunity creates an environment for the participating organizations to develop their missions and further scale their service to children and families in Detroit’s Fitzgerald neighborhood.
CREATE Accelerator
The CREATE Accelerator is an immersive 9-month experience for community-centered, youth-focused organizations to access the tools and resources to scale and maximize long-term impact in their communities. The cohort consists of a handful of organizations that use culturally responsive education (CRE) practices in their work to ensure young people develop the knowledge and skills necessary to engage the world in meaningful ways. Participating organizations are empowered with financial, developmental, and educational support, including engagement with diverse communities of practice and exposure to a national audience.
Culture for Change Conference
Culture for Change is a multi-day conference experience designed to support mission-driven professionals in deepening their leadership skills, strengthening their organizations, and exploring new ways to serve their communities. Our aim is to bring impact-driven professionals together to invest in and strengthen individual talents for the good of the collective. With a focus on leadership and management, organizational culture, and collaboration, this conference helps individuals envision and work toward change.
Kanada Fellowship
The Kanada Fellowship empowers cross-sector community leaders in the Metro Detroit area with the tools to scale equitable change in their communities. This transformative 6-month fellowship celebrates the legacy of James Kanada, the “First Black Frontiersman,” who escaped slavery and formed a settlement in Detroit. Honoring this Kanada Fellows receive financial and developmental support needed to continue their commitment to leading, learning, and collaborating across sectors to reach their leadership goals.
SCP Annual Scholarship Fund
The SCP Annual Scholarship Fund supports youth and community leaders living and leading by example with passion, excellence, integrity, and equity. The Fund supports three unique scholarships and awards: The Liberation Award, The Village Award, and The Community Keeper Award. We encourage university students, teachers, and leaders of nonprofit and community organizations to apply and nominate potential recipients.
Woman 2 Woman
Woman 2 Woman (W2W) is an initiative to empower women to further their professional careers by providing a support network and resources. The initiative focuses its efforts on women overcoming systemic and individual obstacles to employment, breaking cycles of homelessness, abuse, and pandemic-related challenges which have altered the socioeconomic status of a woman's household in a drastically inequitable manner.
Thriving Neighborhoods Fund
The Thriving Neighborhoods Fund, powered by Strategic Community Partners and the Gilbert Family Foundation, will engage 20 nonprofit organizations that are improving the quality of life for Detroit residents by investing in public space activation and other programming that creates more vibrant and inclusive neighborhoods.
