Culturally Responsive Education Advancing Toward Equity - CREate Accelerator
ABOUT THE ACCELERATOR
The CREate Accelerator is an immersive development experience for community-centered organizations seeking to create a long-term impact on youth through culturally responsive practices. By developing a collaborative system of support, the accelerator engages a cohort of 9 grassroots organizations and catalyzes the growth of well-defined culturally responsive education (CRE) philosophies, theories, and practices within and across the group.
As a result of their 12-month experience in the accelerator, participating organizations will ultimately be equipped with tools and resources to further build, fund, and maximize their impact in the communities they serve.
Culturally responsive education (CRE) is a teaching approach and philosophy that emphasizes the importance of including students’ cultural backgrounds, interests, and lived experiences in all aspects of learning inside and outside of the classroom. It ensures students interact with responsive curriculum and learning opportunities, feel affirmed in their identities and experiences, and develop the knowledge and skills to engage the world and others critically and justly.
