Vance K. Jackson, Jr., MSW is the CEO of NEXX Consulting Group, a distinguished consulting firm that delivers customized solutions for nonprofit, government, and corporate sectors, offering services in grant writing, strategic planning, fund development, program design, and organizational effectiveness. With over 17 years of experience across business, government, community, and philanthropy, Vance has held numerous executive and board leadership roles.
Vance served as the Social Impact Fund Development Officer in the Mayor’s Office of the City of Detroit, where he was a key member of a team that raised over $1 billion in public, private, and philanthropic investments. Prior to this, he spent more than a decade at J.P. Morgan, specializing in global treasury solutions for middle-market corporations.


Mr. Jackson lectures at the University of Michigan School of Social Work, teaching MSW courses on social enterprise, community development, and fund development. Additionally, he mentors for Techstars, a national venture capital accelerator supporting diverse entrepreneurs.Vance serves as an Executive Board Member for various nonprofit and social impact organizations. He is the University of Michigan Black Alumni Region Director and National Co-Chair of the National Speakers’ Bureau. With a strong background in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, he led the Black Organization for Leadership Development (B.O.L.D) at J.P. Morgan, overseeing programs for 10,000+ employees globally.


A frequent speaker and author of six books on leadership, finance, and family, Vance is a first-generation college graduate. He holds a B.A. in Sociology and an MSW from the University of Michigan, where he also serves on the Board of Governors for the School of Social Work. He lives in Detroit, MI, with his wife, Nina, and their two children.
