Meet Our Founder & CEO, Dr. Chanel Hampton

As the daughter of a single mother who sacrificed everything for her children, I witnessed at an early age the power of one person having a passion and vision—and fiercely pursuing it. Even after becoming an emancipated minor at sixteen years old, I was surrounded by examples of servant leaders whose zeal and determination built opportunity, not only for themselves, but also for their families and their communities. People like my grandmother and grandfather, Lola Mae and Joe Harris, showed me that I had to live by action—not simply through idle words or passivity. 

Seeing these examples of Black excellence and resilience allowed me to comprehend the unique challenges facing marginalized communities and envision the endless possibilities that equitable change can create. It is this deeply personal understanding that fuels the vision and work we do, and how Strategic Community Partners functions with and for the communities we serve.

Growing from a deep desire to cultivate hope, advance equity, and create a generational shift that I truly believe is possible. We may not see the full impact in our lifetime, yet I know we can create change now in the lives of children, families, and community members. It is our duty to create the long-lasting equitable change that our children’s children will experience, embrace, and believe in. To do this, we must be unapologetically committed to creating and advancing equity with and for communities.

We stand on the shoulders of greatness, and we act toward a future beyond our ancestors’ wildest dreams. 

I know we can do this. I know it is possible.
