JESSICA BROWN

Director of Strategic Initiatives and Special Projects
Community Development Advocates of Detroit

Jessica Brown is a mission-driven professional guided by a passion for connecting communities with resources, knowledge, and experiences. In her current role as Director of Strategic Initiatives and Special Projects at Community Development Advocates of Detroit (CDAD), Jessica works to support local nonprofits and community organizations throughout the city. Her work is deeply rooted in community-generated insight and collaboration, which allows her to support her partners toward the goals they want to achieve. 

Prior to joining CDAD, Jessica served as the Outreach Coordinator for the Education Department at The Charles Wright Museum of African American History. In this role, Jessica developed public education programming for youth and families that resonated with their interests and helped to broaden the museum’s audience. 

Jessica’s professional background also includes 12 years of service in education as an administrator and a teacher with a wide range of classroom experiences from preschool through high school. 

Jessica is also an active member of the West Village Association and the Michigan Disability Caucus in addition to being a volunteer with Alternatives for Girls. Outside of her work, Jessica loves gardening, enjoying live music, and gaining new experiences through travel.
