BookNook helps schools and organizations provide powerful in-person reading instruction. They offer easy-to-use tools that can be used by educators, caring adults, and near peers to help students get great results. BookNook believe that the best programs are designed by people who have their roots in the classroom. Both their instructional strategy and our curriculum come from experienced educators who have seen firsthand what works best for students.

BookNook and Strategic Community Partners are collaborating to introduce this great literacy tool to districts, schools, and practitioners in Detroit. With a great supplemental literacy tool, a powerful technology support team, and passionate near-peers and adults pouring into the literacy of young students, BookNook will assist students in growing their literacy at schools across Detroit. Our first two pilot schools (which will allow us to further refine our tool based on what students, educators, and families need) are the Academy of the Americas and Munger Elementary School (both within Detroit Public Schools Community District). This pilot is made possible by our generous grant partners at United Way for Southeastern Michigan and General Motors.
